An impressive photograph of D-League players covers two pages in the Jan. 28 edition of Sports Illustrated. Can you spot former Rebels Kevin Kruger and Wendell White?
It shows 141 players posed on the court at the D-League Winter Showcase in Boise, Idaho.
White said it wasn’t simple.
“We had fun, other than taking that picture,” said White, whose Los Angeles D-Fenders won two games in Boise.
The players stood, and stood, and stood. A few are smiling. Five have their eyes closed, including Kruger. Some look downright mad. Most look bored beyond belief, as if they’re in study hall. One has his head bowed.
“It was kinda crazy, man, a long process,” White said. “Thirty minutes, and it should have been 10. They pretty much took 30 pictures.”
OK, so where are Kruger and White? White is in the upper left corner, three players from the side and three from the top, looking to his right. Kruger is about four bodies to White’s left, one row back, and he looks like he’s asleep while standing.
