Letter to the editor:

U.S. needs leader who can inspire us

This is in response to the letter to the editor from Ray Harbert, who asked why the Clintons are getting so little respect:

When a finger is waved in your face by a person in authority who is lying to you, treats you as a stupid, foolish boy and who later admits he was lying all the time about what the finger was being waved in your face for, it becomes hard to have any respect for that person or believe in anything he has to say ever again. Period.

When the person running for president uses this very unethical person as an intricate part of her future presidency and her campaign, it’s impossible to respect that someone’s judgment if she protects, embraces, nurtures and coddles the liar.

After the George W. Bush/Dick Cheney presidential debacle, my hope is for a true break from the lying, deceitful past of both parties and the awarding of the presidency to someone who inspires and leads with a new, hopeful vision of truth toward a cooperative future for all.

That is why I can be only for Barack Obama.
