flashpoint:

Could the state be an anomaly in the GOP presidential race?

If Nevada is a bellwether Hispanic vote, labor vote, black vote on the Democratic side, could the state be an anomaly in the GOP presidential race? Nevada was the scene of an uncontested win for former presidential candidate Mitt Romney, the place where presumptive Republican nominee John McCain finished third behind Ron Paul. Is it possible that while McCain may be a strong candidate against any Democratic nominee nationally, he could be a weak candidate here in November? He obviously doesn’t care much about the state he made nary a visit. And he is as pro-Yucca Mountain, if people care, as any presidential hopeful has been. If Nevada is key in the White House sweepstakes, McCain may have his work cut out for him here.
