The big political news Thursday was Mitt Romney’s endorsement of John McCain for the GOP nomination. Could this help McCain in Nevada, where Romney won the caucus in a landslide and had the only organization? A Rasmussen poll released Thursday showed McCain would be crushed by Barack Obama (50-38) in Nevada, while the presumptive GOP nominee would beat Hillary Clinton 49-40. Could the Romney nod make McCain more competitive against Obama here and lock up a victory in Nevada against Clinton? Ah, the question about those questions is: Are they relevant? McCain didn’t finish second here he finished third. Ron Paul was second. And something tells me he’s none too eager to embrace McCain.
