Letter to the Editor:

Give Bill Clinton credit for good works

I think the media and the pundits are being very unfair to Hillary Clinton’s campaign when they keep attacking former President Clinton, whether it’s for responding to a rude and constant heckler or mentioning something he did during his administration.

I never hear the media tell the American people all the good things Bill Clinton has done in the past seven years. They include helping to fight and greatly diminish AIDS in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean, where he personally visits AIDS patients.

At his annual Clinton Global Initiative meetings — two of which I attended as a volunteer — he has brought together from America and from all over the world politicians of opposing viewpoints to discuss world problems.

The people with big money who attend these Clinton Global Initiative events are put in touch with those who need it, such as when the CEO of Starbucks started buying many more coffee beans from Aceh, Indonesia, because it was so devastated by the tsunami. Additionally, 10-year plans have been started to tremendously improve agriculture in the African countries of Malawi and Rwanda.

Bill Clinton also has promoted solar and wind energy right here in Nevada.

It is time Bill Clinton was accorded some respect from the media and pundits for all the good he accomplishes. I can think of many other people who have done nothing for mankind that they could be criticizing instead.
