Cliches about the Democratic Party

How many cliches about the Democratic Party can we pull out after Saturday’s Non-Tally at Bally’s? At least two. “I’m not a member of any organized political party; I’m a Democrat,” Will Rogers once said. Or the timelessly applied one: Democrats never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. In a year in which unprecedented enthusiasm for the presidential race generated incredible turnout at the Jan. 19 caucus, the county party in just a few hours managed to create a local, state and national embarrassment. It takes a lot of hard work to accomplish something that spectacular. The party actually charged people $50 for the privilege of attending a convention that turned out not to be a convention? Anyone for a refund?
