Letter to the editor:

McCain’s personality not without flaws

In her letter to the editor Sunday, Carol Campbell speaks of John McCain’s “strong personality.” Oh really?

According to a Los Angeles Times story, McCain claims in his 2002 memoir that he had separated from his first wife, Carol, before he began dating Cindy Hensley, who would become his second wife.

But in the court record he states he “cohabited” with his first wife until Jan. 7, 1980, which was nine months after he began seeing Hensley. McCain obtained a license to marry Hensley on March 6, 1980, while he was still legally married to his first wife!

He did not divorce his first wife until April 2, 1980. He dumped his first wife to marry a woman who had inherited millions of dollars and is 17 years younger than he. Is this the type of personality we want our next president to have?
