Strip Scribbles: Sightings, magic’s black eye

* Comedy star Jamie Foxx treated his sister and some friends to dinner at Iron Chef Kerry Simon's restaurant in George Maloof's Palms Place condotel. He then went out onto the pool deck to join the fun of the weekly "duck-hunting" party -- but he didn't go wading in the water like some of the other enthusiastic revelers. However, Jamie did entertain the crowd with two unexpected songs, including his hit he recorded with rapper Kanye West, "Gold Digger."

* I'm asking if Flamingo headliner magician Nathan Burton is planning another over-the-top illusion involving 100 gorgeous showgirls. Word is that he'll tackle the super-stunt this fall. National TV coverage is guaranteed, which will also give Vegas tourism incredible exposure!

* Meantime, my friend Stan Allen, publisher of Magic Magazine, tells me that the art of magic got a black eye on America's Got Talent. In his new issue, Stan says: "Three of the victims tell what really happened and as a result, Brett Daniel's magic murder-mystery show here was shut down and almost took its star and creator down with it!" Magicians never like to reveal secrets but I’m trying to pry the full story about this out of those involved.

* Just where is Gwen Stefani’s husband, rocker Gavin Rossdale, turning up after his Hard Rock Hotel concert? Two rival clubs have claimed he'll be their special guest -- but contractually, there can only be one! Carey Hart has claimed Gavin will be at the Wasted Space gala opening for a one-time-only acoustic concert and French designer Christian Audigier says Gavin will be at his newly opened Club Audigier in Treasure Island! We're waiting to see which club wins!

* In the past few days at the Hard Rock hotel, our Star Surveillance spotters noted Quentin "Rampage" Jackson at Body English before his arrest in California, and Shemar Moore, Reggie Bush and Tyrese Gibson at the Rehab pool party.

* Meantime, the wheels of steel turntable phenomenon known as DJ AM kicked off the new Club Audigier’s industry night party with gorgeous models daubed in the French designer's body art and draped in his tattoo-like designs. NBC's National Heads-Up 2008 poker champion Chris Ferguson was also the center of attention.

* Every week our colleagues at the Vegas Minute send out wonderful video news clips to TV stations across the country extolling the joys and delights of our tourist destination. Now for the first time, the Vegas Minute went live with host Danielle Demski (PHOTO) looking ABBA-solutely fabulous in shining spandex and rhinestones. She transformed into a dynamo for her Mandalay Bay interview with Mamma Mia! star, singer-actress Carol Linnea Johnson, who plays the role you’ll see Meryl Streep in for the movie version unspooling tomorrow across the country!

* I see into the past and the future: Psychic Gary Spivey treated himself to the late-night performance of the X Burlesque topless adult cabaret show at the Flamingo ... Criss Angel does a quick roundtrip L.A. commute tomorrow to tape the CBS "Late Late Show" with comic Craig Ferguson, who turns up here every now and again as a comedy headliner.

* Time restraints coupled with photo transmission problems squeezed out our planned coverage of Donald Trump's super luxury spa here on the Strip and we promise to run that next week!
