In response to Christine Carroll’s Friday letter to the editor, headlined “Reid as vice president: Is it such a crazy idea?”
I think she has the right idea — in fact, it has occurred to me a time or two. The pundits should be bandying Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s name around as Barack Obama’s running mate.
He does have the experience Obama lacks, and he certainly has the credentials, perhaps more so than anyone else. He is also an expert in negotiating the legislative process that gets bills passed. He has led the fight against the Yucca Mountain waste dump.
Harry is a fighter in more ways than one, and won’t back down once committed. It would be a wonderful thing for Nevada.
No, Ms. Carroll, you are not crazy. It most certainly does make sense. From your mouth to God’s ear, or should I say to Obama’s ear.
