Updated Thursday, July 24, 2008 | 4:59 p.m.

Metro Police reopened Lamb Boulevard in both directions this afternoon between Bonanza Road and Washington Avenue after someone spotted a suspicious package in a storage unit about 11:45 a.m. today.

A shopping center near the storage units had been evacuated as a precaution, said Officer Jose Montoya, a Metro spokesman. The shopping center has since reopened.

Las Vegas Boulevard South near Flamingo was shut down from 10:30 p.m. Wednesday until about 1:15 a.m. today after a suspicious suitcase was discovered near the Bellagio fountains by security guards. Investigators found clothing inside, police said.
