A 60-year-old man riding a 2008 Thoroughbred Trike south on Maryland Parkway at Twain Avenue in the right lane was hit and tossed off the trike from behind about 11:54 p.m. Friday, Metro Police said.
The driver of a 1998 Nissan Maxima, 33-year-old Modesto Lopez-Hernandez of Las Vegas, then ran over the victim, police said.
The trike rider was taken to Sunrise Hospital and was pronounced dead. The man has not been identified.
The Nissan driver was arrested and charged with felony driving under the influence. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
This is the 69th traffic-related death in Metro's jurisdiction this year. The accident remains under investigation, police said.
