Each day this week will be a carbon copy of the previous day – except that temperatures will be on a slow march upward.

The National Weather Service said there are few surprises over the next seven days in the Las Vegas area: lots of sun, lots of heat and no rain.

The high temperature this afternoon should reach about 105 degrees with sunny skies and winds near 10 mph. Temperatures will climb each day this week, with highs topping out near 110 on Friday.

The average high on today’s date at McCarran International Airport is 104 degrees, according to weather service records.

Forecasters said monsoon moisture responsible for heavy rain Saturday morning in the southeastern Vegas Valley has moved out of Southern Nevada. Although heavy rain was reported in parts of Henderson this past weekend, McCarran officially received 0.03 inches of rain. That brought the monthly total to 0.08 inches.
