Firefighters work to extinguish a fire today at the Mesa Club Apartments in Henderson. No one was at home in either unit that was damaged.

A two-alarm fire destroyed two upstairs apartments in Henderson after the Henderson Fire Department received its first call today about 12:46 p.m.

No one was at home in either of the two units at the two-story Mesa Club Apartment Homes on Ramrod Drive and Mountain Vista, said Katherine Hooper, fire department public information officer.

The apartment building has 16 units.

There were no injuries as firefighters battled the blaze, Hooper said.

The original apartment fire did cause a small brush blaze to break out, but firefighters quickly extinguished it, Hooper said.
