A man wrestled a 7-Eleven store clerk to the ground then stabbed him early this morning at Sahara Avenue and Lamb Boulevard, Metro Police said.
The man entered the store shortly before 5 a.m., said Metro spokesman Officer Jose Montoya. He jumped the counter, pushed the clerk to the ground, then pulled out a knife and began stabbing the clerk, Montoya said.
The suspect fled the store and is not in custody, police said.
The initial police report did not indicate that the clerk was taken to a hospital, Montoya said. He said the wounds might have been superficial.
Police don't know if the suspect took money with him. Investigators are reviewing store surveillance videotapes.
