Iraq war justifies criticism of Bush

With respect to Eileen Schenck’s Saturday letter headlined “Constant criticism of Bush is unfair”:

Ms. Schenck says former Bush press secretary Scott McClellan’s book was written by a man who was out of a job and wanted to make money.

I have nothing but admiration for McClellan, as I think most Americans thought the war was based on propaganda, and he just verified that.

If Bush gets continued criticism, it is because he is not flexible enough to realize he made a mistake, and he perpetuates this by the continuation of a war that has already killed a minimum of 40,000 Iraq people; helped create a situation whereby there are 4 million people in Iraq who are now homeless; killed 4,084 U.S. troops; and wounded 30,000 more troops.

Thereby he provided this country with a whole new level of need. If that does not prove criticism is relevant and ongoing, I don’t know what would.
