Chamber of Commerce and the $9.5 billion dollar question

The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, loath to take a

position on anything, has announced it will hold a rare news conference Wednesday “regarding the $9.5 billion school bond question on the November ballot. The bond will fund both needed renovation and modernization of existing schools and new school construction to keep pace with the continued student population growth.” To be philosophically consistent — I can’t even write that with a straight face — the chamber would never support the School District, which wastes money and is bureaucratically bloated, right? Trust those people with $9.5 billion? The horror! Oh wait — the superintendent will be there. The chamber folks wouldn’t call him and then oppose it. Would they?
