The Republicans in Congress once again proved they are not the least interested in helping the people they represent.
They did this by not supporting the Democrats’ bill to impose excess profit taxes on industries profiteering in this war (Bush’s folly).
Since 2000 the oil industry has made more than $600 billion, largely from the little guy. In addition to this thievery, it took $17 billion in subsidies from all of us.
When it’s your turn to vote in November, remember who has looked out for you — not a Republican. The only chance we have is to repeal much of what Bush did so that the little guy gets a fair shake: Vote Democratic.
