Let’s chart our nation back to greatness

Thomas Friedman’s column in the Las Vegas Sun on Tuesday echoes my sentiments exactly. We, the people, really want to build a nation — our own. If any of you have not read this column you must — Republican or Democrat, supporter of McCain, Obama or Clinton — read what he says.

Mr. Friedman speaks to all of us, and we surely have a chance to respond in the upcoming election. We must not let our nation continue to fall in the ranking of great nations of this world. We have the knowledge and the educated people who can turn this country back into the greatest nation in the world if we just will.

Let us, the adults, the ones who should be responsible enough to leave this country in better shape than it is now for our coming generations of children, grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, not be ashamed of what we are leaving them to somehow fix.

Let the fixing begin now.
