Letter to the editor:

Superdelegates belie principle of equality

“Animal Farm” is a short novel written by George Orwell in 1945, in which animals overthrow and oust the human owners of the farm, setting it up as a community in which, at first, all animals are equal.

Status disparities soon emerge, however, among the different animal species. As control of the farm by the animals matures, the concept of “All animals are equal” is changed to “All animals are equal, it’s just that some animals are more equal than others.”

The novel, showing the deficiencies of the Bolshevik Revolution, describes how a society can be manipulated and twisted by individuals in positions of social and political power.

This is what has happened to the Democratic Party. The party has created a group known as superdelegates. (“All animals are equal, it’s just that some animals are more equal than others.”)

For more than 100 years the Democrats, along with many in the liberal media, have advanced the notion that they represent the “little people.” Hogwash.

The superdelegates of the Democratic Party are “more equal than others,” sticking their proverbial finger in the eye of the so-called “little people.”
