Two new managers join Home News advertising staff

Two new managers have joined the advertising department of the Home News.

Lani Dorlack has been named advertising director, a position in which she will have overall sales management responsibilities. A native of Oahu, Hawaii, she had previously been a sales manager with the Stephens Media Group in Las Vegas.

Prior to joining Stephens, Dorlack held a number of key management positions for Gannett, the largest newspaper company in the United States. She most recently was president and publisher for The Reporter, a Gannett daily in Fond du Lac, Wis. Before that, she was publications manager at Gannett Wisconsin Newspapers. During her career, she has held other key sales management positions for Gannett in Indiana, Honolulu and Maryland.

She also held a sales management position with New Times, the nation's largest publisher of alternative newsweeklies.

Carol Skerlich joins the Home News as a retail sales manager and will have responsibility for territory sales personnel. A graduate of Las Vegas' Bishop Gorman High School and UNLV, Skerlich joined Greenspun Media Group in April 2000 as part of the initial sales team that launched In Business Las Vegas, the company's weekly business newspaper. She most recently managed community publishing for GMG.

"We're thrilled about Lani joining our team," General Manager Bruce Spotleson said. "She has proven success in all key areas of community newspapers — most importantly, in helping our customers grow their business. And Carol brings market knowledge and a strategic thinking ability that will be a real benefit to our customers as well."

Skerlich and all other sales managers and personnel will report to Dorlack in her new position.
