A 43-year-old man has died after his vehicle crashed into the rear of a semi-truck stopped for a traffic light at Cheyenne Avenue and Michael Way.
The accident occurred about 3:52 p.m. Tuesday after the man's 2000 Chevrolet, which was westbound in the center lane on Cheyenne, failed to stop and crashed into the 2008 Freightliner, Metro Police said.
The driver of the semi-truck, 50-year-old Benjamin Joyce, wasn't injured, police said.
Paramedics pronounced the Chevrolet driver dead at the scene. The Clark County coroner's office will release the name of the man who died in the crash after family is notified. This is the 85th traffic-related death in Metro Police jurisdiction this year.
