Fred and Joyce Lasko celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 12, 2008.
Warren Hogue, a World War II Army veteran and resident of the Nevada State Veterans Home, celebrated his 99th birthday on Sept. 9. The celebration took place at 2 p.m. at the Nevada State Veterans Home and included pizza, cake and entertainment.

Fred and Joyce Lasko celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family on a cruise to Mexico. They were married Sept. 12, 1958, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple in Logan, Utah.
They were hosted on the trip by their children, Dr. Kevin Lasko of Reno, Dr. Barry Lasko of Henderson and Michael Lasko of Glendale, Calif., their wives and their nine grandchildren. The sons are all graduates of Boulder City High School.
Fred Lasko retired from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, and Joyce Lasko taught 22 years at Andrew J. Mitchell Elementary School.
