The 15th annual Chautauqua, themed "All the World's a Stage," features encores from two scholars in previous local performances.

Frank Mullen returns this year to play famed King of England Henry VIII, and Brian Kral is back as playwright Eugene O'Neill.

Pianist Charlie Shaffer is also back by popular demand for the second year, and will perform at both shows — for Mullen at 1:30 p.m. and throughout Kral's entire performance at 6:30 p.m. at the Boulder Theatre.

Mullen, a Reno Gazette-Journal reporter, in 2005 played financier J.P. Morgan at Chautauqua and in 2006 he played CBS broadcaster Edward R. Murrow.

Kral, a playwright himself, played cowboy entertainer Buffalo Bill Cody in 2006.

Organizer Sarah Weber said the acts are unified by drama and history, and she thinks the audience will love the contrast between the characters.

"They're centuries apart, but who cares?" she said. "With this year's election and everything going on in town and around the country, it's something interesting but not too controversial."

A wine and cheese reception with the actors at the home of Bob and Linda Faiss the night before the shows benefits the Chautauqua committee.

Tickets for the shows are $10 and available at the Boulder City/Hoover Dam Museum in the Boulder Dam Hotel, 1305 Arizona St., at the Boulder City News office, 508 Nevada Way, or at Borders bookstores in Henderson and Las Vegas.
