Letter to the editor:

Hardly the symbol of fiscal austerity

Will the real Sarah Palin stand up?

According to The Washington Post, as governor of Alaska she billed taxpayers for 312 nights spent in her own home in Wasilla in her first 19 months in office. Per diem is intended to reimburse for meals while traveling on state business.

Also, her daughters and husband charged state government $43,490 for travel from their house to Juneau, the state capital.

Furthermore, the state was billed $707 per day for a hotel room in New York.

Palin charged $93,000 for flights in 2007.

Finally, she has criticized Obama for asking for earmarks, while she petitioned Congress for millions in earmarks for Alaska. (A little hypocrisy here?)

So let us cut the bull.
