Rain chances gone as normal temperatures return

After lightning bolts and thunderclaps on Monday, storms have stayed outside the Las Vegas Valley and today begins a drier pattern for the coming week.

The humid air and unstable weather will travel east and southeast of the valley today -- and it will stay there.

Temperatures at this time of year normally range in the 90s for highs and that's what the National Weather Service is predicting for today and through the weekend.

With the change in the atmosphere, Southern Nevada may say goodbye to daytime highs in the 100s until next year. The today in the valley is expected to reach 96 degrees with sunny skies.

Lows will stay in the 70s for the next several days. No rain chances are in the forecast through the beginning of next week.
