Summerlin deaths

Jean Barosay

Jean Barosay, 98, of Las Vegas, died Aug. 26.

The 23-year resident was born Jan. 9, 1910, in Poland. She was a homemaker.

Barosay is survived by her daughter, Barbara A. Lindblad of Las Vegas; sons Mel A. Barosay of Las Vegas and Edward C. Barosay of Trion, Ga.; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 30 at Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne.

Joseph Chopp

Joseph T. Chopp, 85, of Las Vegas, died Aug. 26.

The three-year resident was born Jan. 21, 1923, in Dodgeville, Mich. Chopp was a retired manufacturing punch press operator and a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Chopp is survived by his wife, Leora Chopp of Las Vegas; daughters Paulette Bugnell of Westland, Mich., and Julie Munoz of Evansville, Ind.; sons Dennis Chopp of O'Fallon, Mo., and Joseph Chopp of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 31 at Marvel Manor Assisted Living.

Eileen Claghorn

Eileen A. Claghorn, 89, of North Las Vegas, died Aug. 28.

The three-year resident was born March 6, 1919, in Cookstown, Northern Ireland. She was a homemaker.

Claghorn is survived by her sons Lt. Col. Charles E. Claghorn and wife, Holly, of North Las Vegas, and Thomas S. Claghorn of Milford, Conn.; granddaughters Melissa Smith of Box Elder, S.D., and Jennifer Claghorn of Henderson; great-grandchildren Colten and Kylee Smith of Box Elder; and sister, Greta Fyfe of Sunrise, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Charles E. Claghorn.

Services were private.

Jon Hill

Jon "Jack" Hill, 54, of North Las Vegas, died Sept. 4.

The 15-year resident was born Feb. 23, 1954, in Hornell, N.Y. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Maria R. Hill of North Las Vegas; sons Mathew Emmons of Las Vegas and Mario G. Doria Medina of Bolivia; daughters Morgan Hill of Las Vegas, Jill Doria Medina of Bolivia, and Keiko and Kelly Doria Medina, both of South Carolina; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 14 at Mountain View Lutheran Church, 9550 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Nancy Toddre

Nancy Theresa Toddre, 83, of Las Vegas, died Sept. 8.

The 50-year resident was born May 21, 1925, in Pittsburgh. She was a homemaker.

Toddre is survived by her sons Frank Toddre and wife, Rachel, of Las Vegas and Ralph Toddre and wife, Meredith, of Verdi, Nev.; sisters Margie Neill of Las Vegas, and Elaine McGovern of Pittsburgh; brother, Edward Iandiorio, of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation and services took place Sept. 11.
