Metro Police found a 3-month-old infant who had been with a babysitter safe and sound, but charges may not be filed in the case.

The baby, Lorieanne Marie Evans, was in the care of 26-year-old Ebony Shantee Nelson with permission from the mother, police said.

The address that Nelson gave the mother to pick up the infant on Boulder Highway doesn't exist, police said earlier today.

It appears that there was miscommunication between the mother and Nelson, said Officer Jose Montoya.

Child Protective Services investigators were questioning both the mother and Nelson, Montoya said.

"It appears to be a case of miscommunication," Montoya said.

No arrests have been made in the case, he said. Child Protective Services will do formal interviews with both women, he said.
