So Democrats are having a lot of fun because some adviser to John McCain boasted that the virtually computer-illiterate GOP nominee invented the BlackBerry. Or words to that effect. So now the Democrats are exploiting and distorting what the adviser said, just as Republicans once did about Al Gore and the Internet. Tit for tat, I suppose. Or byte for byte, maybe. But this is the season for outlandish claims. In our congressional race, Jon Porter is claiming to have built a solar power facility — presumably wearing his tool belt and hammering two-by-fours together. And Dina Titus is taking credit for capping our property taxes — even though I can’t remember her generally being much of a tax-capper. Maybe I’ll text McCain and see what he thinks.
