Detectives with the North Las Vegas Police Department said today they need the public's help in identifying and finding a suspect in a convenience store robbery.

A woman customer left the Rebel Store at 2001 Las Vegas Boulevard N. at about 6 a.m. Sept. 7 and was approached by a man in the parking lot, police said. As the woman tried to enter her vehicle, the man brandished a knife and grabbed the woman's purse, police said.

After robbing the woman, the man fled on foot northbound from the store's parking lot, police said. Surveillance tapes showed the man had been inside the store before the robbery occurred.

The man is described as 5-foot-8, weighing 220 pounds and wearing a black "do-rag," gray T-shirt and dark blue shorts with a white stripe along the sides.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery or who knows the identity of the suspect or his whereabouts can call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 to remain anonymous, or the North Las Vegas Detective Bureau at 633-1773.
