Adam Garibay had been on the run since 1985 for a murder he allegedly committed in Los Angeles, Calif.

Detectives from the Metro Police fugitive details found and captured Adam Garibay, on the run since 1985 for a murder he allegedly committed in Los Angeles, police said.

Metro's detectives learned from federal officers that Garibay had fled to Mexico where he obtained a fake identity card and a fake Social Security card, police said.

From there he had traveled to Florida and California before returning to Las Vegas.

Gariby was identified by Metro detectives after his fingerprints were run through the system during an unrelated investigation.
