The Democratic Party’s generosity is exceeded only by its arrogance. I refer to its stance on offshore drilling. The restrictions the Democrats want on drilling, for the most part, are due to the party’s liberal hatred for the oil industry and desire to keep the economy in turmoil until after the presidential elections.
Just what are their objections to drilling within 50 miles of the shore, where most of the oil is? The only reason I can come up with is the visibility of oil rigs out there. Don’t they realize — probably not — that because of the Earth’s curvature, oil rigs would not be visible beyond approximately nine miles out? Maybe they still think the Earth is flat.
What other objections might they have? Let’s read them in print, if they have any, so that we, the taxpayers who pay their salaries, can better understand them.
