Suspect arrested for assaulting federal officer

Members of a federal task force have captured 29-year-old Lon Allen Clark of Las Vegas and charged him with assault on a federal officer.

The Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT), assisted by Metro Police detectives, FBI and ICE agents, and Henderson Police, began searching for Clark today in the northeast part of the Las Vegas Valley.

About 1:40 p.m., the task force found Clark trying to escape through a trailer park, police said. He was trying to hide in a storage shed near the intersection of Lamb Boulevard and Owens Avenue.

Clark was taken into custody without incident and arrested on a federal warrant charging him with assault on a federal officer.

The warrant resulted after an event on Thursday, when ICE agents were trying to detain Clark for questioning. Clark drove his vehicle into the vehicle occupied by the ICE agents, injuring one of the agents in the crash.

One of the ICE agents fired at least one shot at the suspect, however, the man was able to escape.

Investigators identified Clark and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
