Boulder City deaths

Jack Cummings

Jack L. Cummings, 82, of Boulder City, died Sept. 15.

The 20-year resident was born Oct. 26, 1925, in Detroit. He was a retired aerospace budget analyst, a member of the U.S. Navy and a veteran of World War II.

Cummings is survived by his wife, Jennie Cummings, of Boulder City; daughters Rhonda Cummings, of Boulder City and Julie Stephenson, of Orange, Calif.; son, Roger Cummings, of Corona, Calif.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family requests that donations be made to the Senior Center of Boulder City, 1001 Arizona St., Boulder City, 293-3320, [email protected].

Services were held Sept. 20 at Palm Mortuary-Henderson.

Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary-Henderson.

Karen Knisley

Karen Knisley, 68, died Sept. 18 in Lamoille, at her summer home after fighting a lengthy illness.

She was born March 16, 1940, in Pasadena, Calif., to Florence Richardson Knisley and Raymond Knisley. She attended school in Lake Tahoe and Lovelock, and at the University of Arizona. Her career was in management at Camp Richardson, Lake Tahoe and Boulder City.

She was on the Boulder City Planning Commission and served as chairman of the Boulder City Hospital Board. She an active member of the Boulder City Sunrise Rotary Club and Beta Sigma Phi.

Knisley is survived by John Pretto of Boulder City; her sister, Barbara Lespade of Lamoille; children Constance Johnson, of Woodinville, Wash., Michael Gerling, of Sacramento and Kimberly Hancpol, of Carson City; and grandchildren Sean, Nicole, and Norah Johnson.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Knisley.

She loved her family, friends and community, her family said.

The family requests that donations be made in her name to Sunrise Rotary Club or Boulder City Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Dolores Lake

Dolores Mary Edith Martha Bockenstette Lake, 85, of Bullhead City, Ariz., died Sept. 16.

She was born July 3, 1923, in Covington, Ky., to Frank and Angela (Tubesing) Bockenstette.

She married Ralph Joseph Lake Nov. 15, 1947, in Detroit. They moved to Southern California in 1963, where they raised their seven children and retired in Fort Mohave, Ariz., in 1983.

Dolores was an active member at St. Mary Margaret Catholic Church. She loved doing crafts, and her greatest pride was her Victorian dollhouse she and Ralph created.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph; her children Thomas Lake and wife, Gail of Whittier, Calif., Glenn Lake and wife, Evelyn of Laguna Hills, Calif., Gary Lake and wife, Trish, of Boulder City, Patricia Gheen and husband, Steve, of Redding, Calif., Cynthia Ropp and husband, James of Boulder City, Ralph A. Lake and wife, Valerie, of Boulder City, and Christopher Lake of Oakland, Calif.

She is also survived by grandchildren, Kyle Lake and wife, Jaimie, Kelly Blanchard and husband, Cameron, Eric Lake and wife, Athena, Neal Lake, Amanda Lake, Nichole Lake Cobb and husband, Efaon, Jena Lake, Matthew Gheen and wife, Melissa, Patrick Cory Gheen, Jodel Heier and husband, Samuel, Garret Gheen and wife, Cariann, James T. Ropp, Elizabeth Ropp, and Brandie Figueria and her daughters Codee, Gabrielle and Devyn; as well as great grandchildren Emma and Abigail Gheen, Logan and Adalee Gheen, Kassius and Jonas Lake, and Rylan Heier.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Francis, Robert, and Thomas; and her sister, Norma Richardson.

A memorial service was held Sept. 22 at Saint Mary Margaret Catholic Church.

Interment will be at 11:20 a.m. Sept. 26, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.

William Tedesco

William "Bill" J. Tedesco , 53, of Boulder City, died Sept. 15.

Bill grew up in Griffith, Ind., and moved to California after high school. His love of the desert led him to Boulder City, where he became owner/operator of Meticulous Detailing of Boulder City.

Bill always had a tremendous passion for anything automotive. Known as a mechanical genius, he could be counted on for his generous advice or help to repair anything with an engine. Bill's sense of humor, sharp wit and colorful personality defined him.

He is survived by brothers Michael Tedesco and wife, Margie of Crown Point, Ind., Timothy Tedesco and wife, Cindy of Demotte, Ind., James Tedesco and wife, Maureen of Marietta, Ga., Arthur Tedesco and wife, Ceptember of Rio Rancho, N.M., and David Tedesco and wife, Rebecca of Highland, Ind.; many nieces and nephews; and several loyal and loving friends.

He was preceded in death by brother Victor Tedesco.

Services will be held in Indiana at a later date.

Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary.
