Sun City MacDonald Ranch residents were treated to their annual fashion show and fundraiser Sept. 21.

Twelve residents of Sun City MacDonald Ranch strutted the runway, modeling fashions provided by Coldwater Creek at The District. The theme this year was travel and providing tips for packing light. With heightened airport security and the cost of airfare rising, travelers can find themselves limited as to what they can bring with them, show organizers said.

The clothes modeled this year were designed to be mixed and matched and worn in several different ways, allowing for lighter packing while not sacrificing style and variety, organizer Barbara Eubanks said.

Fashion coordinator Mary Lou Fortin and the Sun City MacDonald Ranch house committee decorated the community center with a theme of touring the world.

Tables were set up dedicated to Africa, China, Egypt, Canada and other countries to give the fashion show a truly traveling feel, Fortin said.

This year's fashion show brought in about $1,200 through raffle ticket sales and door prizes. Eubanks said the purpose of the fundraiser is to provide residents with resources to decorate their community.

Special guests in the audience this year included Ms. Senior Nevada 2008 Mya Lake Reyes and other contestants of the pageant.
