Charles Anderson

Charles "Andy" Anderson, 86, of Las Vegas, died Sept. 17.

The 20-year resident was born Aug. 7, 1922, in Pasadena, Calif. He was a retired aerospace engineer and a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II.

Anderson is survived by his son, Doug Anderson of Las Vegas; daughters Marylou Northrup of Stamford, Conn., Carolyn J. Anderson of Washington, D.C., and Linda Anderson of Anaheim, Calif.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne.

Gabriel Barnes

Gabriel Jayden Barnes, 3, of Las Vegas, died Sept. 16.

He was born Nov. 30, 2004, in Las Vegas.

Barnes is survived by his parents Wendy and Troy Barnes; sisters Aleena Kay and Patricia Ann Barnes; and brother, Tyler Wesley Barnes, all of Las Vegas.

Services were held Sept. 23 at Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne.

Hymen Forkos

Hymen Forkos, 92, of Las Vegas, died Sept. 21.

The 12-year resident was born Oct. 26, 1925, in Chicago. He was a retired salesman.

Forkos is survived by his wife, Lynn, and sons Edward Forkos and Howard Forkos, all of Las Vegas.

Services were held Sept. 24 at Palm Mortuary-Northwest.

Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne.

Audoro Gallegos

Audoro O. Gallegos, 74, of Las Vegas, died Sept. 21.

The 10-year resident was born April 5, 1934, in Tusas, N.M. He was retired home renovation general contractor, a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean War, and a member of the American Legion.

Gallegos is survived by his wife, Anita M. Gallegos of Las Vegas; sons Robert O. Gallegos of San Francisco, and Michael A. Gallegos of Astoria, Ore.; daughter, Audrey M. Gallegos of Lancaster, Calif.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 24 at Calvary Chapel.

Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne.

Angela Luke

Angela Nicole Luke, 16, of Las Vegas, died Sept. 20.

The 14-year resident was born Sept. 26, 1991, in Bakersfield, Calif.

She is survived by her parents Jill and William Luke of Las Vegas; twin sister, Amber Luke; and sisters Alicia and Ashley Luke, all of Las Vegas; brothers Christopher and Michael Luke, both of Las Vegas, and Jonathon Luke of Fort Drum, N.Y.

Services were held Sept. 24 at Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne.

Josefa Martinez

Josafa Martinez, 96, of Las Vegas, died Sept. 19.

The 11-year resident was born March 19, 1912, in Durango, Mexico. She was a homemaker.

Martinez is survived by her daughters Irene Lopez of Las Vegas, Aurora Jaramillo of San Pedro, Calif., and Maria Elena Hernandez of Durango; sons Mario Hernandez and Jose Hernandez, both of Las Vegas; 23 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 21 at Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne.

Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne.

Isabel Moden

Isabel A. Moden, 90, of Las Vegas, died Sept. 14.

The 43-year resident was born Aug. 31, 1918, in Ellingson, S.D. She was a homemaker.

Moden is survived by her daughters Cathy L. Harber of Shelton, Wash., and Penny J. Reese and Judy D. Rich, both of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services were held Sept. 25 at Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne.

Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne.

Charles Quinn

Charles Anthony Quinn, 77, of Las Vegas, died Sept. 13.

The 48-year resident was born Nov. 19, 1930, in St. Louis. He was a retired supervisor for Nevada Bell, a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War, and a member of the Knights of Columbus and AT&T Pioneers.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Evelyn Quinn of Las Vegas; daughter, Cheryl Quinn of Las Vegas; brother, Richard Quinn and wife, Nancy, of Vacaville, Calif.; sister, Mary June Fanetti of St. Louis; sisters-in-law Glaria Beal and husband, Virg Snider, of Las Vegas, Beverly Cohick and husband, Clair, of St. George, Utah, and Laura Kost and husband, Robert, of Las Vegas; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sisters Roberta Peasel and Alicia Gaughan.

Bernie Tkach

Bernie Tkach, 78, of Las Vegas, died Sept. 17.

The 10-year resident was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Reading, Ill. He was a retired aerospace engineer, a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War.

Tkach is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ginny Tkach of Las Vegas; sons Rick Tkach and wife, Vicki, of Anaheim, Calif., and Tom Tkach and wife, Brooke, of Canton, Miss.; daughter, Kathy Flores and husband, Walter, of Mission Viejo, Calif.; sister, Rose Sheperd of Bloomington, Ill.; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Pete Tkach.

Services were held Sept. 20 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
