Metro Police have identified one of two suspects in a fatal shooting that left a man with a gunshot wound to his stomach.

One of the suspects has been identified as 27-year-old Jose Antonio Cordova of Las Vegas, police said. Cordova is 5-foot-6, weighs 200 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. His last known address was in the 300 block of Steelhead Lane.

The man who was shot has been identified as 29-year-old Jhon Fredy Castano of Las Vegas, the Clark County coroner's office said today.

Police responded to the 5300 block of Retablo Street near Flamingo Road and Decatur Boulevard at about 11 p.m. Friday after receiving reports that a man had been shot. Police investigators learned the man who had been shot and two other men were involved in a confrontation, witnesses told police.

The victim had a single gunshot wound to the stomach and was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died, police said.

The suspects might be in a 1991 Chevrolet pickup truck with Nevada plates, police said, describing the vehicle as riding low with blue and white graphics on the sides.

Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation and ask anyone with information to call Metro's homicide section at 828-3521, or for those who wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
