The star is rising for local alternative rock band Ashbury, which, in 2006, won a national competition called "Have a Nice Gig," put on by Bon Jovi.

The group will perform at the grand opening of The Farm, one of Vegas' latest music venues, at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 7. The club is located at 5597 S. Rainbow Blvd. Admission is $12 advance and $14 at the door.

When the group won the Bon Jovi event they were invited to perform with the legendary rock band before 50,000 fans at Giant's Stadium.

Since then their music has aired on MTV and they have performed their own concerts around the country. They have two albums to their credit ("City Lights" EP released in 2005 and "Complacency" LP released in 2006).

Ashbury's latest recording is "Let's Make a Scene" EP, to be released March 31. It was recorded in at Millbrook Sound Studio in upstate New York with producer Lou Giordano (Goo Goo Dolls, Jewel, Plain White T’s, Live, The Ataris).

Ashbury says it is a “rock band that writes pop music, we have big choruses and vocals, and we play music that kids can identify with.  A lot of it is upbeat and fun, but on the other side of the coin it is something that adults and parents can connect with too.”

Ashbury has shared the stage with artists such as Panic! at the Disco, Jewel, Live, Collective Soul, Paramore, and most recently played a near sold out show with The Cab and The Higher at the Las Vegas House of Blues.
