An intoxicated driver who drove through a Metro Police fatal crash scene this morning, nearly striking police personnel, has been arrested.

Traffic officers were investigating the early morning traffic collision, which took the life of Metro Officer James Manor, when 25-year-old Safira Allen of Las Vegas drove through the crime scene.

Police had blocked off Flamingo Road in both directions between Tenaya Way and Rainbow Boulevard after the 12:40 a.m. Thursday crash occurred.

Allen drove around vehicles and barricades blocking the road, then traveled westward in eastbound travel lanes of Flamingo, police said. In the process, she broke through crime scene tape and nearly struck Metro personnel, police said.

When challenged by REACT representatives on the scene to assist with traffic control, Allen left her vehicle and attempted to flee the area on foot, police said.

Allen was taken into custody a short distance from the scene and was taken to Clark County Detention Center, police said.

While on the way to the detention center, Allen became combative and kicked out the windshield of the patrol car in which she was riding, police said.

Allen has been booked into the detention center charged with one count of:

• Driving under the influence (DUI) drugs

• Felony reckless driving

• Destruction of county property
