Henderson deaths

Cecile Becker

Cecile Becker 97, of Henderson died May 8 at a local care facility.

A resident since 1952, she was born Dec. 22, 1911 in Menominee, Mich., and owned an employment agency.

She is survived by daughters Joyce Nies and her husband, Norbert, of Henderson, Jane Engelbrecht of Henderson and Linda Becker of Las Vegas; brother Donald Lomprey and his wife, Eleanor, of Fresno, Calif.; grandchildren Mike Hougen of Las Vegas, Diane Busiochia and her husband, Mark, of Henderson, Cathy Rooney and her husband, Patrick, of Mesa, Ariz., Dan Enelbrecht of Henderson and Lori Spring of Las Vegas; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family requests memorial gifts go to the charity of the giver's choice.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. May 16 at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Interment will be private.

Richard Boucher

Richard W. "Rick" Boucher, 67, of Henderson, died May 11 at a local hospital.

A resident since 1995, he was born Sept. 25, 1941 in Torrance, Calif. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and an aerospace engineer.

He was a member of the Boulder City Gun Club, Ducks Unlimited and the National Rifle Association, and a lay eucharistic minister at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Henderson.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene, of Henderson; son Rick W. Boucher of Crestline, Calif.; daughters Kristeen N. Van Sice of Yucaipa, Calif., Laura Jones of Chatsworth, Calif., and Beth Traynor of Henderson; and 10 grandchildren.

A vigil will be held at 6 p.m. May 18 at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. May 19 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside service will be held at 12:40 p.m. at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.

John Earl Wood

John Earl "Woody" Wood, 59, of Henderson, died May 4 in Las Vegas.

Born Jan. 23, 1950 in Tallahassee, Fla., he lived in Henderson since 1971 and worked at Titanium Metals Corp. for 35 years as an instrument technician. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his son, Nickalaus Wood of Henderson and mother, Maryell Wood, of Tallassee, Fla., as well as three grandchildren.

Services will be at 5 p.m. May 16 at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
