This weekend is going to start strong, with an action-packed tonight and Saturday, but will come to a quiet close, as a sleepy Sunday is on the horizon.

No bother about the slow finish, however: Today and Saturday’s itineraries offer more than enough celeb-studded events to satisfy your weekend entertainment appetite.

Things will get started this evening with the actress best known as ‘Claudia Salinger’ on “Party of Five,” Lacey Chabert, will be at Tabu to celebrate her 27th birthday.

Meanwhile, funnyman Ron White will be at the Mirage, where he will take his “blue collar” stand-up comedy to the Terry Fator Theatre.

Further south on the Strip, Jermaine Dupri will once again host at Privé, while country heartthrob Jason Aldean will perform at Mandalay Bay Beach.

Three bands will be out at the Hard Rock Hotel tonight: Five Finger Death Punch, Otherwise, and The Bravery. The foremost is throwing themselves a CD release party at Wasted Space in which the middle band will play, while the latter will take to the stage under the stars as the 2009 Friday Night Live poolside concert series comes to a close.

Tomorrow will begin with a poolside party, too, but things will be slightly different as Sean Combs hosts at Wet Republic.

Diddy’s friend, Kid Cudi, will celebrate his new record later that night, during a CD release party at Tao.

Before the party gets underway, however, one of Las Vegas’ sweetest showgirls, Holly Madison, will sweeten things up with an in-store appearance at the Sugar Factory. The lollipop-loving blonde will be at the Mirage’s newest candy store from 5 until 6:30 p.m.

Around the same time, German-born duo Siegfried and Roy will be out at Hofbräuhaus, where they will signal the start of Oktoberfest with the tapping of the festival’s first keg.

The duo’s appearance will be the fifth time they opened Oktoberfest at the authentic German ale house. Like the tiger-loving magicians themselves, the beer is imported from Germany, from Munich.

Saturday’s schedule will continue at MGM Grand, where famed fighter Floyd Mayweather will put his undefeated record on the line. “Money” will face-off against five-time world champion Juan Manuel Marquez in what’s being billed as “Number One vs. Numero Uno.”

Mayweather will be at Studio 54 for some post-bout fun, regardless of whether he wins or loses in the ring.

Meanwhile, hometown rockers The Killers will be across the street at Mandalay Bay. The B52s will also be at the resort tomorrow night, and are scheduled to play the House of Blues, while another throwback act, Lynyrd Skynyrd, is set to play out at Red Rock.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are also gearing up for a Saturday night Las Vegas show, and will take to the stage at the Pearl before hosting an official afterparty at Ghostbar.

Rocker Jeremy Dawson will spend tomorrow night at the Bellagio but the frontman will be without his Shiny Toy Guns counterparts. Still, that won’t stop him from performing a live set at The Bank: Dawson will take to the DJ booth and serve up a mix of mash-ups for the Saturday night crowd.

Meanwhile, Samantha Ronson will be across Las Vegas Boulevard, at Planet Hollywood, where she will return to the turntables at Privé.

And finally, Kid Rock will follow up last night’s show at The Pearl with a second concert at the Hard Rock Hotel on Saturday. Unfortunately for fans, however, the second show is closed to the public: A private company has rented The Joint for the night, and they are the ones who are paying Rock to perform.

Rock’s ex, Pamela Anderson, surprised her on-again/off-again boyfriend/ex-husband, Tommy Lee, at the Hard Rock last months, after he and his Motley Crue bandmates played The Joint.

Perhaps Pammy will return to the Hard Rock this weekend to pay Kid Rock a visit.

Hmm, on second thought, probably not.
