A preliminary hearing will be held later this month for a Las Vegas man accused of killing a 15-year-old girl and critically injuring a man last week in a southwest valley home invasion.

Norman Belcher, 35, who faces murder charges in the Dec. 6 death of Alexus Postorino, is being held without bail in the Clark County Detention Center.

He appeared by way of video monitor from the jail briefly this morning before Judge Joe Bonaventure in Las Vegas Justice Court.

The judge set Bonaventure's preliminary hearing for 9 a.m. Dec. 27.

Belcher's public defender, Timothy O'Brien, indicated he would file a written motion for bail with the court sometime today.

Belcher has been charged with murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon and burglary with a deadly weapon in connection with the home invasion in the 9700 block of Villa Lorena Drive.

Police received a report of shots fired at the residence at 2:43 a.m. When they arrived, they found the door had been kicked in and Nicholas Brabham, 31, and Alexis Postorino both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Both were taken to University Medical Center, where Alexus Postorino died and Brabham underwent surgery for gunshot wounds to the hip area.

After the shooting, police found a woman staying at the home who had jumped out a second-story window into the backyard after the shooting. The woman told police she was laying in bed with Brabham when they heard glass break and he went to investigate, according to the arrest report.

William Postorino, the father of Alexus Postorino, arrived at the scene after the shooting and said he had been involved in an ongoing feud with Belcher because he owed Belcher money, police said.

Alexus Postorino was a student at the Southwest Career and Technical Academy.
