Boulder City child drowns in family’s pool

Irene Drive

A 2-year-old boy drowned in his family’s pool at their home in Boulder City on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Boulder City Police said they received a call at 12:38 p.m. from a “frantic father” who said his son was not breathing after he found the boy floating in the backyard pool at their residence on Irene Drive.

When the fire department arrived, police said, attempts were made to resuscitate the child at the scene and on the way to Boulder City Hospital. The child was pronounced dead about 4 p.m.

Police were not releasing the name of the victim Tuesday evening. The incident is under investigation by the BCPD.
