Marty Walsh at Trifecta Gallery

• Marty Walsh, who has successfully run Trifecta Gallery for six years in a tiny cube-like space (250 square feet) near the back door of the Arts Factory, is about to move down the hall into the much larger space occupied by the vacating Valentino's Zootsuit Connection. The upsize will give Walsh plenty of room to continue rotating monthly exhibits by contemporary artists and illustrators, while showing other works in stock — and running a small boutique.

• The city of Las Vegas gradually has been decreasing its funding for First Friday. Last year, it contributed to four events; this year, only one: the G.L.O Festival, mixing visual and performing arts with a celebration of light, on South Casino Center Boulevard between Charleston and East California Street (May 7, 6-10 p.m.).

• Arts Factory owner Wes Myles is nearly done building a 12x60-foot bocce-ball court outside his Bar and Bistro on the east side of the Arts Factory, which will cater to patrons of that establishment.
