Wind advisory issued for Spring Mountains, Red Rock Canyon, Mount Charleston

Another sunny, relatively cool and breezy day is on tap for Las Vegas.

Temperatures will reach only into the upper 70s today and southwest winds will increase this afternoon and continue through Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

As a low pressure system moves into the Great Basin, winds will be between 15 and 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph possible today for the Las Vegas Valley, forecasters said.

The weather service said those planning outdoor activities in Red Rock Canyon or the Spring Mountains should be alert for high winds and consider postponing activities until the winds subside. Motorists should be alert for crosswinds and blowing dust that could make driving hazardous, forecasters said.
