A 93-year-old Bunkerville man who was shot at his home Tuesday died Thursday, and the man’s housemate has been arrested in connection with his death, Metro Police said.

The Clark County Fire Department was called about 10 a.m. Tuesday to a home at 302 Riverside Road in the small town near Mesquite and found the man unconscious with a head wound, police said. Responders were told the man had fallen and cut his head.

The man, identified by the Clark County coroner as Andres Ramos of Mesquite, was taken to Mesa View Hospital in Mesquite, where an X-ray revealed a .22-caliber bullet in his head, police said.

A doctor at the hospital called Mesquite Police. Ramos was then transported to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, according to the police report.

Police arrested John Steven Biasi, who lived in the home with Ramos, in connection with attempted murder. Now that the victim has died, police said, Biasi, 53, will be charged with murder with a deadly weapon of a victim over 65 years of age.

Police said Biasi admitted to shooting Ramos after police asked him about a gun registered to him that was the same caliber as the one used in the shooting. Biasi showed the officers where the gun was located, according to the police report.

Biasi said he went out the front door of the home with a rifle and shot Ramos, who was near the rear door of the home, the report said.

Bunkerville is located about 80 miles northeast of downtown Las Vegas along Interstate 15 near Mesquite.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Metro’s homicide section at 828-3251 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
