UNLV women’s golf coach Missy Ringler, left, has stepped down as head coach.

UNLV Athletics Director Jim Livengood is going to have a busy summer looking for new coaches.

UNLV women's golf head coach Missy Ringler has resigned from her position to focus on family matters, according to a Wednesday press release. The university announced Tuesday that baseball coach Buddy Gouldsmith won't have his contract renewed.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed guiding the women's golf program at UNLV for the past eight years," Ringler said in the release. "I appreciate the support the program has been given by the athletics department since its inception in 2001. Being a mentor to the student-athletes and helping them through their college experience has been very rewarding."

She was the second coach in the nine-year history of the program, leading the Rebels to the NCAA West Regional in each of her eight seasons. The Rebels took 16th in the regional this spring.

Ringler led the Rebels to three consecutive Mountain West Conference tournament titles from 2004-06 and was the league's Coach of the Year in 2004 and 2006.

Livengood, who was hired in December, already has hired two new coaches — football coach Bobby Hauck and men's soccer coach Rich Ryerson.
