Shooting
Metro Police said they arrested two people accused of shooting a man while attempting to rob his apartment, following a car chase that ended with one of the suspects crashing into a bus.
Police said the suspects entered the apartment in the 5200 block of Alpine Place, near the intersection of Charleston and Decatur boulevards, at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
A man was shot in the chest and the suspects fled, police said. Officers located the suspects in a car and began to pursue them, police said.
At one point, one of the suspects got out of the car and was arrested after a short foot chase near Starlight Canyon Avenue and Sunlight Canyon Court, near Silverado Ranch Boulevard and Maryland Parkway in the southern valley, Metro said.
The driver continued to flee in the car before hitting a bus at the intersection of Pecos Road and Patrick Lane, east of McCarran International Airport, police said.
No one was injured in the crash, and the second suspect was arrested, police said.
Each suspect was charged with kidnapping with a deadly weapon, burglary with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon, attempted murder and felony evading police, officials said.
The shooting victim was treated then released from a local hospital. Police have not identified the suspects or the victim.
