Readers' Choice: While this popular tapas restaurant is no hidden gem, part of the fun of Firefly is the feeling that you’re in on something distinctly local and definitely happening. The din of Spanish language music and chattering Las Vegans combine for an organically scene-y night out. Everyone might not know your name, but they definitely know how to have a good time. 3900 Paradise Road. 11:30 a.m.-2 a.m., daily. 369-3971.

Firefly* On Paradise Firefly* is a tapas kitchen and bar with three locations in the Las Vegas Valley. The Paradise location was shut down in late April and eventually 294 patrons reported food poisoning symptoms. However, the restaurant has since dealt with the problem and reopened in a new location down the street, which was in the plans before the outbreak.
Before the salmonella outbreak, the Firefly* restaurants were getting high marks from local food reviewers.
"Eating here has always been so much fun, we didn’t realize it was an education: Spanish Tapas 101. It seems everyone is doing some version of this food now, but in Vegas, Firefly did it first. No wonder each new outlet has been a success," says Brock Radke, Las Vegas Weekly's restaurant reviewer. Radke has ranked Firefly* as No. 9 on his list of the 20 most important restaurants in Las Vegas.
