Church groups hosting carnival for Opportunity Village

Opportunity Village

More than 200 youth from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are hosting a free carnival Saturday for Opportunity Village clients.

Opportunity Village is local non-profit organization that helps people with intellectual disabilities. The fair, located at the group’s Engelstad campus at 6050 S. Buffalo Drive., will feature traditional carnival games such as a cakewalk, beanbag throw and face painting. A complimentary hot dog lunch will be served at the carnival, to be held between 10:30 a.m. and noon.

The carnival is a component of a youth conference planned by Summerlin-area church leaders and a youth committee, made up of 14 juniors and seniors from Palo Verde High School and Cimarron Memorial High School.

The youth conference seeks to encourage participants to be good citizens and serve their communities.
