Cee Lo Green to launch show at Planet Hollywood

It’s official — hip-hop artist Cee Lo Green will bring a modern Liberace-type show to Las Vegas.

Green, who gained international acclaim as a musician and TV host on NBC's “The Voice,” recently confirmed to the New York Times that he will headline a theatrical show at Planet Hollywood. Details about the production were unavailable.

Green first announced the residency this summer on the “Today Show” and told host Matt Lauer he planned to draw on elements of Liberace’s Las Vegas shows for his own production. Green has repeatedly said that he wants to become the first hip-hop artist to stage a Strip show.

The singer-songwriter has made no secret of hoping to expand his brand and recently signed a contract with TV producer Mark Burnett for a British reality television series, “Cee Lo Takes the U.K.” In it, his old group, the Goodie Mob, records a reunion album in London.
